Simulator Hardware Integration

How SimLeague HQ captures, verifies and normalizes scores across every major commercial golf simulator.

1. Abstract

Commercial venues run a mix of launch monitors and simulation software that do not share data. SimLeague HQ sits above the hardware: it reads the end-of-round result any simulator already produces, verifies it, and converts it into a fair league score — no new equipment, drivers or vendor APIs required.

2. The Three-Tier Ingestion Architecture

Tier 1

Capture

Bay-side phone camera snap, HDMI frame grab, or native export file from the simulator software.

Tier 2

Parse & Verify

Per-vendor layout templates + OCR extract hole-by-hole strokes, putts, player names and course ID. Confidence < 92% routes to operator review.

Normalize & Broadcast

Sim-Index engine applies hardware corrections, then verified scores post to league standings and the Lounge TV feed in under 2 seconds.

Every stage writes an audit record, so any posted score can be traced back to the original image and every operator edit.

4. The "Sim-Index" Scoring Normalizer

Simulators differ in putting assistance, green speed and gimmie radius. A player on an 8-ft Trackman gimmie will post lower raw scores than a player on a 6-ft Uneekor setup. The Sim-Index removes that advantage so every bay competes on equal terms.

Formula

Differential = (Adjusted Gross − Course Sim Rating) × 113 / Slope

Hardware Adj. = Gimmie Factor + Green-Speed Factor

Sim-Index = avg(best 8 of last 20 Differentials + Hardware Adj.)

Hardware factors are recalibrated each season from pooled league rounds.

5. Security & Network Integrity

Read-only by design: SimLeague never installs software on, or writes to, simulator PCs.
No venue network access: images are sent from the capture device over HTTPS (TLS 1.2+); no inbound ports are opened.
Encrypted storage: scorecard images and scores are encrypted at rest.
Tamper evidence: low-confidence reads and manual edits are flagged and logged with the operator's name.
Data minimization: only names, scores and handicaps are stored — no payment data on scorecards.
